Matthias Hoffmann works in the fields of chemistry, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, biotechnology and process engineering, and materials science. He has many years of experience in the protection of active pharmaceutical ingredients such as "small molecules" and antibodies, as well as inventions in the field of "first and second medical use". In addition, the biologist formulates complex patent applications in the fields of medical technology and physics and accompanies the grant proceedings before the competent patent offices in Germany and abroad. In addition to patent applications and opposition proceedings, Matthias Hoffmann works in national and international trademark and design law and advises his clients in matters of employee invention law as well as in the drafting and negotiation of licence agreements. He has particular experience in due diligence proceedings. Outside of the firm, Matthias Hoffmann is involved, among other things, in advising start-ups on intellectual property law. Matthias Hoffmann heads our Leipzig office.
